Don't know why Keystone didn't put any electric outlets on our slide, so last weekend Butch put one it. We plug an extension cord into the outlet on the outside to supply power to the outlet inside...which let us run more 'stuff' without having to worry about tripping the circuit breaker.
It was a real quick and easy mod.
Hope this works....click here to see pictures

Nice job and not a bad idea. I need one in our dinette slide for the coffee maker. Looks like another mod is on the list.

Very nice mod!

I installed an outside cable outlet in much the same manner. Inside we really don't need OR have the room for another 120v outlet.

Not much space in our 21RS for a lot of semi permanent items to sit on. So we use the available outlets as needed, then put the items away after use.

Outside on our screen porch, I run a separate heavy-duty extension cord to supply power for the many items we have. Between the TV, the fan, the lights, the blender, etc., we overload the one outlet on the curb side of the camper. With the extension cord (and a three prong head) we have all the power we need.

We do the same thing you do for outside lights etc.

We have plenty of outlets in the trailer except for on the slide....if we needed to plug anything in at the table we had to run an extension cord.
Plus this outlet will really come in handy during the winter when we want to run the electric heater instead of using propane. Last winter we had to be watch what we turned on when we had the electric heater running or else it would trip the breaker.

Hello you all.
wish you were going to topsail with us.

we have a factory installed plug in our slide, but I am going to install another just as you did, just to run an electric heater.
was the wall thick enough to put the plugs back to back, or did you have to off set them so they would not hit each other?

Hey Clayton!!
Wish we were going too, but....maybe at another time. Butch has decided to go ahead and retire the end of this month. YEAH lots of camping time then!
Wall is not thick enough to put back to back, they have to be off set. The outside plug is lower than the socket inside....he just measured so they were as close as possible so he didn't have to cut out anymore foam (insulation) than necessary to run the wires. If you look at one of the inside pics you can see a small area he removed to slide the wires up.
