I know the topic on tires has been beat to death.
my trailer is a 2006 but the tires that came on it have a MFG. date of
Nov. 2004. that makes me starting my 6th. year on the tires. the tread is very good, but they are showing some cracking on the side walls.
I have two choices that my tire man stocks. #1 Carlisle or #2 TOWMAX.
I do plan to step up to a load range E 10 ply tire. not that I need that, but I always think bigger is better.
Carlisle ST 225 75 R E 10 ply are $125.00 each balanced out the door.
TOWMAX ST 225 75 R 10 ply are $100.00 each balanced out the door.
Has anyone ever used the TOWMAX tire?

I wound up going to the Goodyear store and ordering Marathons. I got the larger size to up the weight limit, but was limited by the trailer design from my true intention, which was to go up to a 15" tire.

Clayton, I think I would go with the Carlisle's. I have heard only good things about that tire and have heard nothing about the other one.
P.S. Hope you have a great New Year also.

Be careful with Carlisle's. A friend of ours had several blowouts with them. We went with Maxxis and they have decent reveiws.

I have three radial Maxxis and one radial Towmax (don't ask). 205/75/14 size. The Towmax seems identical to the Maxxis (looks almost exactly like the same tread, size, etc. Performs the same after 2000 miles of a 3000 mile trip.
