We are getting our camper ready for the first trip of the seasaon we are heading to Bristol a week from today. While we checking everything out we found our battery to be DEAD no life left to it. What would be a good one to get this is my 2nd battery since 2006 so I must be choosing the wrong one. Let me know soon as its on Donnies to do list for tomorrow.

I would go to either Wal-Mart or AutoZone. Their batteries are built on the same lines as the vaunted Sears Die-Hards (Johnson Controls) and they have longer warranties. The bigger question is why would you flatten two batteries in four years. My trailer still has the original battery. Ever year I top off the battery using Demineralized Water (available in autoparts stores for about $3 a gallon) once at the beginning of the season and again late in the summer. I also make sure the battery connections are clean and solid and the terminals and connections are sprayed with battery terminal preservative.
Finally and maybe most importantly, a couple of years ago I installed a rotary battery switch. It was really easy. Every time I put the trailer in storage I disconnect the batter using the switch and whenever I hook up to tow I flip the switch to on. The keeps things like the Gas Detector from sucking down the juice. I leave my fridge door open when I store the trailer so it doesn't have an opportunity to becomes a petri dish for fungus. If I left the battery connected the light in the fridge would flatten the battery in a week or so.
