I really wanted to head up to raccoon today, but the significant other told me I wanted otherwise..something about this being a family trip...... I just figured she, and they, could follow me up the next day. I'm just sitting in the office, working, looking out the window, thinking about this weekend and why I'm here. I really need to get away. Is there a spot open tonight, maybe I could sneak away in the camper????? Did I say I was ready to be there? Should be there tomorow around 2:30, but, in a way, I'm aready there.

Put us down for southwestern chili and whatever else we can find that does not manage to crawl away, (Lamar, etc. not included, they have their own transport).
See you on Fri.

We are at Racoon mtn and we have a armadillo walking through the campground you have any idea how we can kill this thing? Pitch fork?
ps Leon put me up to this
Ok guys just rub it in.Wish we could have been there also. We have not been camping this year. I could write a book on what can happen, will happen and it has. This has been one sporty ride for us this year!!! Some bitter, some sweet, but guess what? We have made it for the most part.
Now on to the armadillo. Jerry I am so proud of you for thinking of your fellow campers with a wild armadillo on the loose! But the best advice I can give you is ,Leave It to a professional or it could turn ugly in a hurry!!! I don't think you or Leon falls under that title... But if Kevin was there with his new bionic shoulder he could be the pitch fork handler and use Kathy as his backup!!! Now keep your eyes open and be aware of your surroundings at all times.
Jerry,You are such a nice guy, when are you going to stop letting people put you up to these naughty deeds? LOL (Leon)
Ya'll really are making us miss all the fun!! Take care and tell all hello.

I have a bunch of pictures I’ll post once I process them in.
I ended up with two items that don’t belong to us;
- An Outback flag that was left by the fire on Thursday night. I put it in our camper to keep it from getting wet, and there it sits. I’ll bring it to the next rally.
- A black Police SWAT van that was in the grass by the fire when we left. It’s a nice vehicle, except that it’s about 1 inch tall so I don’t fit in it.
Also, I’d like to fess up to my only sneaky thing I did the entire time, I silly stringed Jerry’s camper. I would have fess’ed up that night but Jerry was so darn mad, no…. furious, I thought it best to keep my mouth shut. It wasn’t planned, but after what, 5 (or 12, I don’t remember) tequila shooters it sure seemed like a good idea at the time. It was brilliantly executed. No one, not even Susan, knew I did it. She hit me more times than I can count when I told her…….
I thought it a pretty harmless gag on a great guy, but apparently I crossed a line. Not that Jerry doesn’t deserve it, but the last thing I wanted was to spoil a night camping for a fellow camper, and for that I truly apologize.
Jerry, I’m sorry. You owe me one.
Denise, you had to clean it up and live with him that night, I’m sorry to you as well.
And it’s with this that I vowed to keep my hands in my pockets when those evil thoughts come to mind. I’ll stick to trash, stoking the wood (fire) and drinking, not necessary in that order.

Cindy said she had a blast, and I know I did. See all you guys at the next rally!!!

so i sat down and started passing the bottle.. and as we all know now, the rest is history.
im glad we and all others had a great time. that was the best time i have had in many years.
maybe we can outdo ourselves at the beach next summer..

Little Mountain on Lake Gunthersville in Langston, AL

How about Stone Mountain?? Some of the sites were refurbished but I think some are still a little rough but it is a great place to visit. Lots and lots to do.

Others? Leon & Lamar had been researching a few others also so maybe they'll chime in

we can always have more than one Fall Rally!! Just because everyone can't attend doesn't mean it doesn't call for a gathering.
We would love to make it to Boone, NC but it is at least a 6-hr drive for us and that just isn't feasible for just a weekend. Austin will be a senior next year so missing school isn't an option (school is out a week in Sept tho). Not to mention, that we probably wouldn't be able to get off work. If everyone decides to go there, we'll see what we can do but . . .
