With July 4th falling on a Monday, I am expecting that there will be more people camping, taking advantage of the holiday failing on a Monday.
Whats everybody doing ? We are going to Hoilday World. The kids are soooo excited. Looking forward to seeing what everyone else has planned !

We are getting together with a few friends at Lake Lanier just outside Atlanta. Pulling in on Thursday and pulling out on the next Tuesday. Can't wait.

Leon,
Are you staying at Lake Lanier Islands Resort Campground or Shoal Creek? We just returned from a quick trip to Lake Lanier this past weekend. We stayed at the Shoal Creek Campground in site 80. It was tricky getting into the site but well worth our efforts. Once we got settled, everything was great - - the site was huge length wise but extremely narrow. We had beach access but our little area as pretty mucky. Our 4 year old was a little freaked out by it, and there are other sites that seemed to have nicer beach areas but overall we were very pleased with everything.

We have a family blog, and I just posted an update on our weekend. I'll do a better write up later in the week but if you'd like to check it out, go to:

Enjoy your stay!

Haven't ever been there but we've been to Sawnee on Lake Lanier. Looks like you've got a great camper and had a great site there. We're going to Bolding Mill this time - thought we would give it a try. The rates have gone up to $32/nite which seems a little high for water and electric only. Both are Corp of Engineer (COE) parks.

Headed to another COE park this weekend on West Point Lake - Whitetail Ridge :) If only GA State Parks would get a clue and let us reserve site #'s.
