I'd be honored to wagonmaster the Stone Mountain Get Together. Its probably about a 5 hour drive for us as it is. Count me as in. Depending on how things are going at work, we'll see if going to both is an option for us.

And I think the idea of smaller mini rallies during the shorter non summer time is a good idea. This is all about camping with friends as often as possible. We can even try to have a small one near Guntersville next year for those that want to camp in Alabama. And I'll say this, I do want to head north to VA, PA, or Ohio for a rally or get together at some point, to me its also about the travel and going places I've never been, if you Yankees will have me. I haven't seen Brent in a while as well as a few others.

I moved the weekends forward one week....

So just to make sure we are on the same page, "forward one week" puts the Stone Mt Rally on the 5th and 6th, or the 19th and 20th? "Forward" can be a relative term.

I'm out of town for two nights and everything becomes "interesting". Did I mention that lovely Cuthbert, Georgia has like NO cell or high speed internet? For what it is worth, I concur with having a couple of different weekends. I am plotting to convince KD to go to both. Whenever we set up a rally on a weekend, even a long weekend, we wind up excluding people by geographic separation. I'm not sure how to avoid that except to split the rallies.

The 17th is a Wednesday. I assume you mean the 19th and 20th.
So if we want the GFM rally to be on an adjacent weekend, that would be the 12th and 13th, or the 26th and 27th. We have always done a fall rally over the weekend closest to Halloween, but given the more northerly location of Boone and the fact it is 3500', the last weekend may be too cold, and even snowy. I've sent Mike a PM and asked his opinion on the date. If anyone else has any preference, speak now please.

We set it to 10/17 just in case anyone wants to come early, they will get the discounted rate but you are correct, 10/19 is the main date for the weekend.

Count us in we will be there for the week if Leon will have us again. I would like to thank Lamar and Leon for putting so much time into getting these trips together. Anyone that has tried to organize a rally of this sizr knows its hard to do.

Ive done the same thing with our group and its much smaller but none the less can be stressful.

Thanks to all Wagonmasters for all Rallies

Well, you asked, and it may be a bit late, but before the dates were moved forward, I was thinking to have the GFM rally after the SM rally, namely on the weekend of the 19th, but was waiting to see who the Wagonmaster was going to be before bringing it up....then things moved real fast.

We may not be able to attend the w/e of 10/12-10/14 if we do go to New England next fall as we hope to do. If it's too late to swap the two rally dates, I'd say stay with the current dates or whatever date will allow the most folks to attend, whoever they may be. If we are able to make it, I'd probably arrive on the Wed before the rally to be able to visit all the different areas surrounding Grandfather Mtn.
